〜生徒との活動〜 Working with Students
生徒さんとの触れ合いで、それぞれの空間を木彫で彩る作品は
増える度に喜びが生れます。
その喜びを皆さまに知っていただくために、
２年に1度生徒さん達との作品発表会も展開しています。
As I interact with my students, I am able to create works of art that decorate each space with woodcarving.
Each time I create more, I feel joy.
In order to share this joy with everyone, we hold a presentation of our students’ works every two years.
～個展の展開～ Developing a solo exhibition
彫ウッド和田の新作品を発表します。
他に無い作品・木彫の醍醐味を皆様に御覧いただきます。

木彫ノミで粗削り、仕上げは彫刻刀で。
Roughly cut with a wood carving chisel and finish with a carving knife.
厚みのある材料の場合は、叩きノミを使用することでボリュームのある作品が表現できます。一例を紹介します。
For thicker materials, a pounding chisel can be used to create a voluminous work of art. Here is an example.
カラーの帽子掛け 素材:朴 サイズ790×290×18㎜
曲線の多いカラーは、リズム感があります。単調な彫りにならないように『叩きノミ』を使うことでボリュームが生まれます。
両サイドに巻紙をデザインして帽子掛けにしました。
The color with many curves has a sense of rhythm. Volume is created by using a “tapping chisel” to avoid monotonous carving.
A rolled paper design on both sides is used as a hat-hanger.

手 鏡. Hand Mirror
彫刻刀で仕上げた作品です。
『沈め彫り』という彫り方で、図柄の周りを彫らず
直接削っていきます。
最初に使う三角刀は慎重に進めていきます。
I finished this work with a chopstick.
This is a “chinkabori” method of carving, in which the area around the design is not carved.
The first triangular blade is used carefully.

当教室で、基本を始めるにあたって・・・Q＆A
まず、基本である彫刻刀の使い方を理解しながら進めていきます。
次第に作品が増えていくうちに当教室の大きい作品を作りたくなったり、自身のオリジナルを作りたい、などレベルが上がっていきます。
その時に『もっと表現を出したい』ところに必要な道具などアドバイスしますので安心して進めることができます。
The first step is to learn the basics of how to use the graver.
As the number of works you make increases, you will want to make larger works, or you will want to make your own original works.
At that time, we will give you advice on what tools you need to make your work more expressive, so you can proceed with confidence.
Q. 木彫ノミを使う教室なの？
Is this a class that uses wood chisels?
A. いいえ、黙々と彫刻刀で進めてもらってもいいですよ。
No, you can have them proceed silently with the carving knife.
Q. 彫刻刀セットを持ってますが、作りたいモノがあります。できますか？
I have a graver set and I want to make something. Can you do it?
A. 彫刻刀セットは通常５～７本しか入ってません。足りない分は説明します。
何を作るか教えていただきアドバイスします。
A graver set usually contains only 5 to 7 gravers. I will explain what is missing.
Let us know what you want to make and we will advise you.
受講内容
習いごとは、通常月に２回が多いです。
木彫刻は時間のかかる手作業ですので
当教室はより時間を有意義に過ごして技術を身につけて
頂けるよう、月３回の受講となってます。

入 会 金 ： ５０００円（税別）
年 会 費 ： 無し
受講時間 : AM10:00〜PM14:00
＊受講できる曜日を決めて頂き、その曜日を３回受講していただきます。(曜日固定)
